Looking at the concrete, the most ordinary, typical of what we see every day in our environment, it does not seem like he was one of the most wonderful materials that can be modified in almost any way. These modifications owe something that quite often referred to generally as "chemistry". These are substances in liquid or powder added to concrete or mortar, designed to change the most common properties. Thanks to concrete, or more broadly - all products that use cement as a binding material - are modified in the direction desired by us. Thanks to it we can and seal, and aerate the mix, we can make the increase of strength followed in almost a few minutes after the addition of water, or delay for some time that could be concreted in the winter and at very high temperatures, cause a plastic and a whole lot of other changes that are desirable here and now in the current production process.

One of the most important manufacturers of chemistry, who have their representatives in Europe are, for example. Schomburg, BASF, Bayer, Henkel, Torggler, Dow Chemicals ...

One of the most important issues in the application of chemistry is:

  • the dosage of compound was consistent with the manufacturer's instructions, as small even exceeding them can make the mix will not be fit for anything, or there are changes in our side,
  • to which class (power) and which bears the mark of cement. Using cement with the designation 32.5 II AV and adding the same chemicals to cement designation 42.5 IR can be obtained or not repeatable behavior. In the case of white cement, there is no possibility of the lack of repeatability of behavior, but should be tested speed of response to the added chemicals.
